Pattern & Ornament

    Before this reading I never gave much thought to ornament and pattern. That being said, I found it interesting as to how deeply it could go upon it’s surface and what I already knew of it. I never once thought the connection of ornament and pattern could be tied to a biological sense. Although I still find that statement hard to believe, the point of view in which it was presented was still interesting to read. 

    The last thing I would imagine to be controversial would be ornaments and patterns. Though reading about the time ornament gained a tainted view gave me a lot of insight on how ornament and pattern speaks beyond a simple symbol or design. After this reading I have come to realize how ornament and pattern really is a huge aspect of everyday life. I never realized it was, even since the beginning of time, from carvings on walls, now to digital representations of patterns.
